What are the steps?

  1. Make one UTM link

Open UTM Links in the sidebar and click New UTM link. Paste the address you want to share in Your website URL and click Create link. Your link is ready on go.ownyourclick.com, and every click is counted from now. Click Open dashboard.

  2. Add a source for each place you post

Go to Manage links and click Add a source. A source is one short link for one place you post. Pick Instagram and the UTM tags fill in for you: source instagram, medium social, and a short link ending in -ig. Click Add source, then do the same for YouTube and WhatsApp. You now have one link per place, plus the default link with no source.

  3. Share each short link or its QR code

Click Copy and paste each link where you post it: the Instagram link in your bio, the YouTube link in your video description, the WhatsApp link in your messages. Each row also has Stats, Edit, Pause, a QR code and Delete. Use the QR code on posters and flyers: every scan opens the link and counts as a click.

  4. Check the link settings

In Settings you can rename the campaign, change where the links go and choose where they open. The campaign name is also the UTM campaign on every source, so they show up as one campaign in your analytics. A link to your website, tapped inside Instagram or Facebook, opens in the phone's browser by default, so your page works as usual.

  5. See which source brings clicks

Once your links are out, the Dashboard fills up: total clicks and people, Where the clicks came from (for example YouTube 2, Instagram 2, WhatsApp 1), Which source brings clicks, when clicks come in, devices, locations and clicks per person.

  6. See each lead's source

Go to Leads. The Source column shows where each lead came from: instagram, youtube or whatsapp. Now you know which place to post more on.

Questions

What do people ask?

What is a source in ownyourclick?+

One short link for one place you post, such as your Instagram bio, a YouTube description or WhatsApp messages. Each source carries its own UTM tags, so every click is counted against the place it came from.

Do I have to type UTM tags myself?+

No. Pick a place like Instagram and the tags fill in for you: source instagram, medium social, and a short link ending in -ig. The campaign name in Settings is used as the UTM campaign on every source.

Can I use it offline, on posters or flyers?+

Yes. Every source row has a QR code. Print it, and each scan opens that link and counts as a click from that source.

Will the link work inside the Instagram or Facebook app?+

Yes. A link to your website, tapped inside Instagram or Facebook, opens in the phone's browser by default, so your page works as usual. You can choose where links open in Settings.

Where do I see which source brings clicks?+

On the link's Dashboard: Where the clicks came from and Which source brings clicks, plus when clicks come in, devices, locations and clicks per person.

Can I keep using my current CRM?+

Yes. UTM links work alongside whatever you already use: share the short links, see which place brings clicks and leads, and keep following up the way you do today.
