Privacy policy

First-party analytics, no raw IPs stored, no third-party cookies — here's exactly what that means.

Last updated: July 6, 2026

ownyourclick ("we") is a link-attribution service operated from India. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we deliberately don't.

What we collect about you (the account holder)

  • Account data: your name, email address and a hashed password (or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google).
  • Billing: payments are processed by our merchant of record (Kelviq). We never see or store card numbers; we store your plan, currency and subscription status.
  • Content: the links, bio pages and settings you create.

What we collect about people who click your links

  • Per click: timestamp, country, region, city (from Cloudflare's network, not GPS), device class, browser name, language, and the referring domain.
  • No raw IP addresses are stored. To count unique visitors we compute a hash that rotates daily, so the same visitor can't be tracked across days, and nothing stored can be traced back to a person.
  • No third-party cookies. No fingerprinting. Conversion attribution uses a first-party click id in the URL (?oyc=…) on the destination site.

Identifiers on our own marketing pages

Our landing page and blog store a random identifier (oyc_vid) in your browser's localStorage to count unique visitors and measure how far articles are read. It contains no personal information, is never joined with account data, and you can remove it by clearing site data. If a blog page shows Google Analytics (only when we have enabled it), Google's standard measurement applies.

Cookies

One first-party session cookie keeps you signed in to the app. That's it.

Processors we rely on

Cloudflare (hosting, network analytics), Kelviq (payments, as merchant of record), Resend (transactional email), Google (optional sign-in), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection on forms).

Retention & deletion

Click events are retained while your account is active so your history stays intact. Delete a link and its future is gone; delete your account (email us) and all workspace data — links, events, keys — is removed.

Your rights

Email agneljohn@errormakesclever.com to access, export, correct or delete your data. We answer within 30 days, usually much faster.
