What columns should a lead tracker have?

The free template has these, and they're a good start for any sheet:

ColumnWhy
DateWhen they enquired, so nobody waits too long.
Name, Phone, EmailHow to reach them.
SourceWhere they came from: facebook, instagram, youtube. One spelling per place.
CampaignThe launch, batch or ad campaign.
Hot %How ready they are. Call 70%+ first.
StatusWhere they are: New Lead, Called, Follow Up, Demo Booked, Enrolled, Not Interested.
Next follow-upWhen to call again. Overdue dates turn red.
NotesWhat they said.

Its Dashboard tab counts leads by status and by source, and how many follow-ups are overdue.

When does a hand-typed sheet stop working?

Usually around the first ad campaign. Leads arrive faster than anyone copies them in, so some are typed late, some twice, some never. Nobody knows which ad or video each one came from, because the form didn't say. And every lead looks the same in the sheet, so you call in the order they arrived instead of by who's most interested.

How does ownyourclick fill your Google Sheet?

  1. Add your landing page in ownyourclick and paste its tag into the page's <head>.
  2. On the page's Configure Sheets tab, press Connect Google and create my sheet. ownyourclick makes the sheet in your Google Drive.
  3. Every lead is written to it the moment they submit your form: what they typed, plus the columns you choose, such as Source, First source, UTM campaign, HOT %, Time spent, Scroll %, Visit #, Country, City, Device and Payment.

Status and Notes always come last. A column you turn off is hidden, never deleted. The sheet also gets Dashboard and Selected Leads tabs.

Can your team update leads in the sheet?

Yes. With a sheet ownyourclick connected through Google, what your team changes in Status, Tags, follow-up and Notes comes back to ownyourclick within about 30 seconds. A status changed in the sheet moves the lead, shows on its timeline and can start a WhatsApp message waiting for that status. Everything that changes in ownyourclick (new leads, payments, scores) is written to the sheet.

Prefer to use a sheet you already have? Connect it with a short Apps Script instead. It receives every lead, but changes made in it don't come back.

Can the same leads go to more than one sheet?

Yes. Add up to 5 more sheets per page, for another team, a partner or a franchise. Each gets every lead, with its own columns and its own statuses, so a partner's statuses never change yours.

Who can open the sheet?

It's your sheet, in your Google Drive, shared with whoever you share it with. ownyourclick asks Google only for access to the sheets it creates for you, never your other files.
